Everything worthwhile takes time and patience.
I’ve had to remind myself of this time and time again these last two years since I had to stop lifting and allow my body to heal.
It seemed like an eternity!
I was sooooo incredibly impatient.
I wanted to get back to the way I was and keep up with my normal routine.
I didn’t know how to slow down
Yet, I was forced to slow down
…and I couldn’t be more grateful.
Today I left my Naprapathic doctor’s office and for the first time, I hadn’t had any flare ups since our last visit!
I’ve done push-ups this week. I’ve added weight to my squats and deadlifts.
And I've had zero flare ups.
…Time and patience.
There is a powerful lesson in time, patience and consistency.
All I could think about was the outcome.
When would I ever be healed?
As I read the most chronic cases, I would get overwhelmed thinking it could take up to three years to heal.
What once seemed so far off yet here we are over 2 ½ years later and I’m on the other side of it.
I’m reminded of this again as I work on building my strength and my physique back.
I caught myself saying “ugh, I don’t want to start over. This is going to take forever.”
Have you ever said that to yourself?
There is something to be said when it comes to any goal we’re trying to reach.
Focusing on the process, not the outcome.
You can’t control the outcome.
But you can control the behaviors that lead to the outcome you want.
Outcomes are WHAT you want. But outcomes don't tell you what to do.
Behaviors are HOW you'll get there. Behavior goals give you an action plan
And that’s what we’ll be working on during this Spring into Nutrition Reset that begins Monday.
4-weeks that will start with the essential step: changing the narrative you keep telling yourself.
Creating a vision for your life
How to eliminate your limits
How to remove the road blocks that have held you back
Why we keep self-sabotaging ourselves when it comes to our health and wellness
Building a foundation of good habits for life.
It’ll all get done with consistent effort, practice, and…
…by slowing down
